HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT US >
It starts with identifying eyesight problems. We screen the eyesight of every child in the schools we visit - on average around 15% have potential vision problems that need follow up with an optometrist. We use a tool called the "Plus-Optix", which makes screening quick, easy and accurate.
The next step is eye testing. A full eye test follows up on the information provided by the screening, to give a fuller picture of the child's vision. Glasses may be prescribed when necessary. Our optometrist, Ravi, uses local practice rooms to provide eye tests near the schools we visit.
Providing glasses is made easy with our Buy One, Give One approach. We provide a number of high quality, new optical children's frames to the schools we work with, to be provided to those who need them most. We also sell glasses at a reasonable cost.
Finally, follow up and monitoring is really important. Kids' eyesight can change rapidly, so it doesn't end when we hand over a pair of glasses. It's also important to be able to monitor and demonstrate the benefits that good eyesight can bring.
